Security and responsible use

Trust is part of the workflow.

CourtVis handles sensitive family and professional information. These are the principles and current controls that shape how the product is built and described.

Access follows the case

CourtVis is organized around authenticated users, roles, and case membership. Parents, supervisors, and attorneys receive different views and capabilities. Attorney access is read-only and limited to the categories a client authorizes.

  • Case-scoped authorization checks
  • Role-specific navigation and actions
  • Permission-based attorney access
  • Server-side checks for sensitive operations

Sensitive files are not public links

Private documents and recordings are delivered through controlled application routes or time-limited access links. Storage paths are validated before files are returned to a user.

  • Authenticated file access
  • Short-lived download links where supported
  • File type and size validation for uploads
  • Private credentials kept on the server

Records have context

Visits, messages, forms, and documents are connected to a case so that the people involved can understand why a record exists and who should be able to see it. CourtVis does not promise that any record will be admissible or accepted by a court.

Service providers

CourtVis relies on specialized vendors for cloud hosting, authentication, database and file storage, email, video, electronic signatures, and payments. Access to those systems is configured for the services they provide and is reviewed as the product evolves.

Responsible product boundaries

CourtVis is software for coordination and recordkeeping. It is not a law firm, a court, a law-enforcement service, or an emergency service. It does not replace legal advice, professional judgment, a court order, or an organization's safeguarding procedures.
